An Autumn Morning Walk

Autumn is simply my favorite season of the year and one thing I love to do is pick a cold morning to get a hot latte and walk around in nature. This past weekend the husband and I visited the local arboretum to enjoy the crisp morning, the colorful trees, and the seasonal flowers.

Our first stop was to our local coffee shop and bakery where we picked up a latte and pumpkin cream cheese muffin to go.

We got to the arboretum around 9:00 a.m. and sat on a bench and enjoyed our muffin and coffee in the quiet of nature. After we finished we started walking around the park and first visited the Japanese Gardens.

After the Japanese Gardens we simply walked over to the cozy gazebo and enjoyed the quiet of nature and the lovely sound of the small water feature.

The next section we visited is the quaint blue cottage along with the many flowers planted around.

We walked around also enjoying the colorful trees of autumn and their fallen leaves.

At the end of the trail is a large raised garden full of seasonal flowers and produce. There were so many beautiful flowers in bloom and I enjoyed their many vibrant, autumnal colors.

After awhile we sat on a bench and simply enjoyed some quiet time. I used this time perusing a book on gardens while savoring the rest of my coffee.

Here are some other beautiful flowers and lovely features that we visited during our autumn arboretum visit.

I hope you enjoyed this small walk through the arboretum and that you too get an opportunity to visit a garden or park to also savor the beautiful colors of autumn this season.
