My Spring Reset: Things I’m Buying, Watching, and Looking Forward To

When February comes around I always start looking forward to and planning for Spring. While I still like to be present in the season I find myself in I have always looked forward to transitioning seasons and all that it brings with it. Spring is such a gentle season that slowly brings us back to life after a season of tucking away at home and staying cozy inside. It brings with it the promise of warmer days, blooming flowers, beautiful sprouting trees, and time to step outdoors and savor the gentle breezes.

I am already planning and incorporating a little bit of spring into the home and I wanted to share a list of a few things I am purchasing the books that I have on my TBR, and any shows and movies on my list as well. I plan to enjoy many things about spring which you can read more about below, but a lot of this list is a kind of curated weekly post, but specifically for the spring season. I hope you enjoy and find some inspiration of your own or maybe a book or two to add to your own TBR list.

I purchased this Graydon Striped Duvet Cover from Ralph Lauren Home for the bedroom and I am looking forward to it being delivered soon. I love the coastal blue and beige coloring that features classic stripes and a soft finish that only gets better with each wash.

One thing that has been on my wish list for years are some Mason Cash mixing bowls. As a girl who loves to bake and who is also planning to make homemade bread this season too, I really wanted to invest in good mixing bowls and this is the year I decided to purchase a few. I got the Mason Cash (4.25 Qt) Mixing Bowl in Basil, the (2.15 Qt) Mixing Bowl in Powder Blue, and the 2 Qt In the Meadow Batter Bowl.

I really like how pretty this 9″ Pleated Ceramic Decorative Vase Blue by Hearth & Hand is from Target and may pick one up the next time I am in Target.

As a girl who never misses out on a beautiful Anthropologie mug, this Camille Stoneware Mug is on my list to check out next time I make a visit to Anthropologie.

At the moment I am also looking for a sweater similar to this style (maybe even one that has a quarter button or zip on the front). This sweater is at J. Crew and although I have linked it I do not suggest paying $425 for a sweater. J. Crew should have many more similar styles that will come out closer to the spring/summer season. I am basically showing this one as an inspiration to what I am planning to purchase for my spring wardrobe which is basically this off white almost light beige and light blue striped sweater.

The first book on my TBR is Death at a Firefly Tea by Laura Childs being released on March 10th. I really enjoy reading her Tea Shop mysteries and the fact that it takes place in Charleston, South Carolina also makes me love it more. The characters are fun to follow, the Charleston setting is perfect, and the cozy mystery keeps you guessing.

I was so sad to hear that Prue Leith would be retiring from British Bake-Off, but luckily she didn’t leave us empty handed as her new book, Being Old…and learning to love it! will be out on May 12th and I am looking forward to reading it this spring. So much more than a memoir, this will be a spirited canter through Prue’s musings on the triumphs, trials and tribulations of ageing well. Including health, beauty, fashion, business, work, widowhood and finding love again, decorating, downsizing, and assisted dying.

There’s always a mixed bag of reviews when it comes to Laurie Gilmore popular Dream Harbor series, but I personally enjoy them. I like the small town setting and the cozy stories of the characters, so I already have
The Daisy Chain Flower Shop on my TBR. It will be released on May 5th and honestly, how cute is this cover for spring?

One author that I have recently been enjoying is Sarah Beth Durst with her Spell Shop series, so when I saw The Faraway Inn I immediately added it to my list. Being released on March 31st, the setting takes place in Vermont in a quaint inn during summer. It looks to be a cozy adventure and another magical and charming book from the author.

I do love a good book about the comforts of home, so I have placed A House to Call Home: Creating Places That Will Comfort and Care for Us on my list as well for this season. Through practical tips on decor inspiration, thrifting, and personal homemaking traditions, Christie shows you how to craft a space that feels wholly yours. With insights drawn from her own experiences, you’ll discover how to build sacred spaces that promote rest, welcome, and healing.

One obvious movie that is on my list for spring is The Devil Wears Prada 2. This already looks like it’s going to be a fun movie and I love that they brought back all the main characters too.

While Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials came out back in January I am saving it to enjoy in spring because the beautiful gardens and landscapes shown in the movie will be so much more beautiful to watch when the trees and flowers outside are blooming as well.

A spy thriller set in 1977 Moscow? What more does one need? PONIES looks to be an intriguing watch for the season.

It’s only the first week of February and I have already been journaling away all the things that I want to do this spring. Some of them are mentioned broadly on the previous blog post, but here is a more detailed list of what I have planned so far for the upcoming season.

  • A trip to Asheville/Biltmore Estate & Gardens
  • Vising the first farmer’s market in April
